Dr. David Lehmann, an accomplished toxicologist with nearly two decades of experience in toxicological research, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and in vitro study design across government, industry, and academia, has joined Intertox. He will be based in Raleigh, NC. David has specific expertise in evaluating human health hazards of pesticides, consumer products (e.g., medical devices, and environmental pollutants. He has had extensive involvement in international regulatory committees and development of new approach methodologies. David holds a PhD in Toxicology from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Prior to joining us, David was a Senior Toxicologist with the EPA.
Richard Pleus had the privilege of co-presenting alongside Dr. Sara Souter (QANTAS) on a panel discussing Cabin Air Quality Practices Across Global Airlines at the International Airline Medical Association (IAMA) Annual Scientific Meeting held in Atlanta. The meeting is exceptional gathering of aviation medicine professionals from around the world. The panel brought together a diverse, airline expert group representing toxicology, medical safety, research, workers’ compensation, and regulatory perspectives. The group discussed practical approaches, scientific considerations, and collaborative strategies being used to ensure cabin air safety for crew and passengers worldwide.
Kelli Hackney presented the results of Intertox's research entitled " Defining New Methods for Evaluating Impacts of Odors Through Chemosensory Irritation " at the Air Quality Measurement Methods and Technology Conference. The Air & Waste Management Association sponsored the meeting. Intertox developed a method for evaluating whether exposure to odors is likely to cause non-specific health effects.
